Beginning her career in temporary employment in 1977, Mary Jane Palmer has become an industry leader consistently setting standards in customer service and human resource management.

On January 8, 1986, Mary Jane founded Palmer Temps, Inc. to meet the specific needs of local businesses for clerical and factory workers. Four years later Palmer Temps received the Crescendo Award honoring the Cincinnati areas’ 50 fastest growing, privately held companies. In 1995, 1996 and 2001, the Mid-Miami Valley Chamber of Commerce awarded Palmer Temps a “Faith in the Future Award,” honoring area businesses dedicated to improving the standard of life in the local community. As customer needs developed for more comprehensive personnel service, Palmer Temps responded by expanding their employee base to meet technical and professional business needs. In addition, the formation of two divisions, ComputerTutor and Palmer Personnel Solutions, offer expanded one-stop personnel services.

In 1995, The Palmer Group became the parent company of Palmer Temps, ComputerTutor, and Palmer Personnel Solutions, and a 6,000 square foot building expansion brought all three divisions together in the same modern facility. In January of 1996, mPhatic Ads & Design was founded. mPhatic specialized in web page design and designed and hosted Middletown.com. In August, 1999 mPhatic merged with middletownjournal.com creating an expansive community website.
